Korean

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

Compare 간댈사 (gandaelsa), also used in Yukjin. Apparently from a term in Middle/Old Korean that was preserved in the Yukjin dialect.[1]

Adverb

[edit]

간대르사 (gandaereusa)

  1. (Yukjin, Russia) surely (in a negative sense)
    Synonym: 설마 (seolma)
    • 2004, 곽충구 [gwakchunggu, Kwak Chung-gu], “2012년도 국외 집단 이주 한민족의 지역어 조사 보고서 [2012nyeondo gugoe jipdan iju hanminjogui jiyeogeo josa bogoseo]”, in 국립국어원 [gungnipgugeowon], National Institute of the Korean Language, page 133:
기래 그거 그래 간대르사 그렇는가. (Russia)
Girae nae geugeo geurae gandaereusa geureo-kaen-neun'ga-gu.
Surely I wouldn't have done that.
