Inherited from Old Javanese prakosa (violent, fierce, untamable, forcible), from Sanskrit प्रकाश (prakāśa, visible, shining, bright; manifest, public; universally noted, famous; clearness, brightness, splendour; publicity, fame). Doublet of ꦥꦿꦏꦱ (prakasa).
