Derived from ꠟꠣꠉꠣ (laga). Cognate with Bengali লাগি (lagi), লাগিয়া (lagiẏa), Assamese লাগি (lagi), -অলৈ (-oloi), Maithili 𑒪𑒰𑒑𑒪 (lāgala), Nepali लाई (lāī), लागि (lāgi), Hindustani لئے / लिए (lie).
