Inherited from Sanskrit अग्नि (agni). Cognate with Assamese অগ্নি (ogni) / আগুনি (aguni), Bengali আগুন (agun), Rohingya ooin. Doublet of ꠀꠉ꠆ꠘꠤ (agni).
