[edit]Inherited from Old East Slavic, from Proto-Slavic *avorovъ, from *avorъ.[1] By surface analysis, ꙗ́воръ (jávor) + -овый (-ovyj). Cognate with Russian я́воровый (jávorovyj), Old Church Slavonic аворовъ (avorovŭ).
