Usage notes
[edit]Varieties of red turnip include 日野菜 (hinona) from Shiga prefecture, 片平あかね (katahira akane) from Nara prefecture, and 伊予緋カブ (iyo hi kabu) from Ehime, among others.
Relatively small, red radishes called 赤蕪 are distinguished from large, white 大根 (daikon).
