Etymology
[edit]Compound of 親 (oya, “parent”) + 殺し (koroshi, 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the verb 殺す (korosu, “kill”). The koroshi changes to goroshi as an instance of rendaku (連濁).).
