Etymology
[edit]From 花 (hana) + 吐き (haki, “連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the verb 吐く (haku).”) + 病 (byō). An invention of Matsuda Naoko (松田奈緒子) for her manga Hanahaki Otome (『花吐き乙女』).
