From (うらや) (urayamu, to envy, to be jealous of, mizenkei form (うらや) (urayama)) + しい (-shii, adjectivizing suffix evoking quality of the suffixed term).[1][2][3](うらや) (urayamu) is from (うら) (ura, heart, inner feelings) + () (yamu, affected, afflicted, worried).
