[edit]From Arabic نَابُلُس (Nābulus), from Byzantine Greek Νεάπολις (Neápolis), from Ancient Greek νέᾱ́ (néā́, “new”) + πόλῐς (pólĭs, “city, city-state”). Doublet of 那不勒斯 (Nàbùlèsī) and 拿坡里 (Nápōlǐ).
