Compound of (だい)(とう)() (Daitōa, Japan's name for the Far East and Southeast Asia during World War II) + (きょう)(えい)(けん) (kyōeiken, a group of nations joining hands to prosper together)

A slogan promulgated during World War II by the Japanese government and military used as a means to rationalize rule over Asia.
