      それぞれのハサミはかつての(ちゅう)(ごく)(たい)(りく)から(うみ)(わた)って(はか)()へ、あるいは(たね)()(しま)(つた)わったとされている。そのため、これらはいずれも「(とう)(ばさみ)」(とうばさみ)と()ばれていた()()があったそうである。
      Sorezore no hasami wa katsute no Chūgoku tairiku kara umi o watatte Hakata e, arui wa Tanegashima ni tsutawatta to sareteiru. Sono tame, korera wa izure mo “tōbasami” (tōbasami) to yobareteita jiki ga atta sō dearu.
      Various scissors have come from mainland China across the sea to Hakata, or via Tanegashima, it is said. For this reason, this type has come to be called “China scissors” (tōbasami).
