[edit]- (clothing) sleeveless robe worn in men's formal court dress under the 袍 (hō) and over the 下襲 (shitagasane), or under the 襖 (ao). Made of silk in the winter and silk-gauze in the summer
- (poetry) Short for 半臂の句 (hanpi no ku, “(poetry) an adorned third line in a tanka”).
