Etymology
[edit]中部 (zhōngbù) is from an urban legend about the Taichung Legislative Yuan member Yen Ching-piao, who was said to have close relations with organized crime. It was said that people who have offended him would be killed and the corpse would be used as material for tetrapods.
粽 (zòng) is from Taiwanese Hokkien 肉粽角 (bah-chàng-kak, “tetrapod”). The appearance of tetrapods are thought to resemble zongzi (glutinous rice dumplings eaten on Dragon Boat Festival).
