Etymology
[edit]Borrowed from English morning call,[1][2][3][4] a synonym for alarm call (UK) or wake-up call (US), attested in American English since at least 1911,[5] but which now appears to be more common in English usage in eastern Asia.
First cited in Japanese to 1966.[1]
