Wasei eigo (和製英語; pseudo-anglicism), derived from macaroni +‎ western, マカロニ (makaroni, macaroni, in reference to things Italian) +‎ ウエスタン (uesutan, western (film genre)).[1][2][3] Compare the formation of English spaghetti western.
