Etymology

From エアプレー (ea purē), wasei eigo (和製英語; pseudo-anglicism), derived from air +‎ play. This term doesn't have a relation with airplay.

2. (slang, by extension) status that person has knowledge about particular thing but hasn't had such or related experience.
