[edit]Derivation possibly unknown. By surface analysis, 取り (to2ri, the 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of verb 取る (to2ru), “to take”) + 鎧ふ (yo2ro2pu, “to arm, wear”).
