【鉄砲】 [noun] gun [noun] (sumo) teppo. [noun] (Kansai, slang) pufferfish, 河豚(ふぐ) (fugu), punning on あたる (ataru, “poisoned; shot”), i.e., a pufferfish is something that can poison you, just as a gun is something that can shoot you.

(This term, てっぽう (teppō), is the hiragana spelling of the above term.)
