Northern Amami Ōshima

Etymology

The first three syllables are of unknown origin, although it could theoretically come from *komer{u|o}, seemingly looking like く゚むぃるり (xumïruri, “to shut in”). The last syllable certainly means "child", used as a dimunitive.

   In our garden, the quail often appears.
