Etymology
[edit]From お花 (o-hana) + 摘み (tsumi, “連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the verb 摘む (tsumu).”). Literally "flower-picking", from how women crouch.
お花 (o-hana) is a more feminine expression than 花 (hana).
