[edit]Punctuation mark
[edit]⸗
- (lexicography) Used in some dictionaries when a hyphenated word breaks on the hyphen at the end of a line.
- Synonym: ⹀
- (palaeography, Coptic) Conventionally used in modern texts to indicate a pre-pronominal form in Coptic grammar, as opposed to the simple hyphen for other uses.
Usage notes
[edit]In Fraktur script, the normal hyphen has the appearance of this glyph. However, it should be encoded as an ASCII hyphen and left to the font to render properly.
