From Demotic trn. According to Sethe in Spiegelberg, Kopt. Handwb. 151, from Ancient Greek Βρεττανία (Brettanía, Brittany). Brittany being the chief source of tin in antiquity. With the beginning reanalyzed as the singular masculine definite article ⲡⲓ- (pi-).
