Usage notes
[edit]This symbol is sometimes used in baseball scoring. A pitcher's innings pitched statistic is expressed as a number of innings, followed by the number of outs. Each out counts as one-third of an inning. This fraction symbol, ↉, is occasionally used to indicate that a pitcher has a round number of innings.
The character is included in Unicode for compatibility with the Japanese ARID STD B24 character set.
