ἴνδουρος

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary

Ancient Greek

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

The similarity with Sanskrit उन्दुर (undura, rat, mouse) is rather accidental. For the ending, it can be compared σκίουρος (skíouros, squirrel), which must be a loan, perhaps from Pre-Greek
