ἄκυλος
Appearance
Ancient Greek
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Connection with Sanskrit अश्नाति (aśnāti, “to eat, consume”) and ἄκολος (ákolos, “bit, morsel”) is improbable. It is rather a Pre-Greek word, since -υλ- is a frequent substrate suffix.
