Ancient Greek
[edit]Alternative forms
[edit]- ἀστράπην (astrápēn)
Etymology
[edit]A connection with ἀστραβής (astrabḗs, “steadfast”) is improbable. According to Beekes, the variation αβ/απ is well-known in substrate words, so it may well be a Pre-Greek word.
