*ᚨᚢᚷᛟ (*augo /⁠augō⁠/, eye) +‎ -ᛁᛉ (-iʀ, -ed; forms adjectives from nouns). Cognate with Old English -īeġe; both are possibly inherited from Proto-Germanic *augiz.
