[edit]Probably related to Arabic ن و ر (n w r), which contains meanings like "mark by branding" and "revile".[1][2]

- blemish, stain, flaw, spot, defect
- Leviticus 22:20
- ኵሉ ፡ ዘቦቱ ፡ ነውረ ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፡ ኢያምጽእዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢይሰጠወክሙ ።
- kʷəlu zäbotu näwrä laʿlehu ʾiyamṣəʾwo läʾgəziʾäbḥer ʾəsmä ʾiysäṭäwäkmu .
- Whatever has a defect, you shall not offer, for it shall not be acceptable on your behalf.
