Etymology

Borrowed from Old Armenian *ճակունդեղ (*čakundeł),[1] the earlier unreduced form of ճակնդեղ (čakndeł), ultimately from Middle Iranian *čakundar. See Old Armenian and Persian چغندر (čoğondar).
