Borrowed from Mingrelian *წყარ-იშ-სინდ-ი (*c̣q̇ar-iš-sind-i). The alternative form წყა̈სინჯ (c̣q̇äsinǯ) is from Mingrelian წყარისინჯი (c̣q̇arisinǯi). Doublet of მჷსირ (məsir).
