- Nineteenth letter of the Georgian alphabet. Its name is rae ([ɾɑɛ]) and it is preceded by ჟ and followed by ს.
- The number 100 in Georgian numerals.
- The phoneme is disputed; Gôichi KOJIMA claims it is pronounced as /ɹ/.
- რ (r) tends to disappear between vowels, and the phoneme /j/ may appear in its place without changing the meaning of the word.
