From *ოგზოლი (*ogzoli), from Proto-Georgian-Zan *lʿa-gz-al- (provision, victual), from Proto-Georgian-Zan *gza- (road, path, way), from Proto-Kartvelian *gz- (to go).

For რზ ← *გზ (rz ← *gz), see Rogava.[1]
