From the root ლუმჯ- (lumc-, to get dark, become evening). Akin to Mingrelian ონჯუა (onǯua, evening), მა-ლიმჯ-ე-თ, მა-ინჯ-ე-თ (ma-limǯ-e-t, ma-inǯ-e-t, evening, black out).
