[edit]Inherited from Proto-Kartvelian *ne-rc̣₁q̇w- (“salive, spittle”). Cognate with Georgian ნერწყვი (nerc̣q̇vi), Mingrelian ლერჭკვა (lerč̣ḳva) and Svan ნა̈შყვ (näšq̇v).
