[edit]- Čuxua, Merab (2007) Iberiul-ičkeriul enata šedarebiti gramaṭiḳa [Ibero-Ichkerian Comparative Grammar] (in Georgian), Tbilisi: Tbilisi State University Press, page 370, suggesting a reduplication of *კა̈̄უ̂-კი (*ḳǟû-ḳi), together with Georgian კევი (ḳevi, id.), Laz ონკორუ (onǩoru, “to ruminate”), Mingrelian ნკორუა (nḳorua) derives from Proto-Kartvelian *ḳew-; he's however unware that Georgian itself is borrowed from Armenian. Furthermore the Zan vocalism would be complicated.
