[edit]From ი- (i-) + მხორ- (mxor-) + -ს (-s). Inherited from Proto-Georgian-Zan *mxar- (“to eat”).

Usage notes
[edit]- This verb has 2 roots depending on aspect; perfective root მხორ-, მფხორ-, ფხორ- (mxor-, mpxor-, pxor-) and imperfective root შკომ-, ჭკომ- (şǩom-, ç̌ǩom-).
- Verbal noun is ოშკომუ (oşǩomu) in Western dialects and ოჭკომუ (oç̌ǩomu) in the rest.
