Etymology

From გ- (g-) +‎ ო- (o-) +‎ ჩ(ვ)- (ç(v)-) +‎ -უმ (-um) +‎ -ს (-s). Inherited from Proto-Georgian-Zan *ʒarc₁w- : ʒrc₁w- (“to take off (clothes)”).
