Etymology

From გო- (go-) +‎ ო- (o-) +‎ ნთხიმ- (ntxim-) +‎ -ს (-s). Inherited from Proto-Georgian-Zan *rtx-am- : rtx-m- (to stretch (out); to break, disconnect).
