From ამა- (ama-) +‎ ო- (o-) +‎ ბ- (b-) +‎ -უნ (-un). Inherited from Proto-Kartvelian *b- (“to tie, bind”).

1. to hang over something that is covered by an iron, the top of which is not visible

   ომერიქ იპარამითამტაში არადა თავანიზ ნაამობუნ ქჲუმეფეზ ეწოწკერს
