Particularly: “Not given etymology by STEDT (hlyô "( prn. hrô ) slide down"). Somewhat looks like a derivative of Proto-Sino-Tibetan *g/s-lwat (to free, release, slip), whence Old Chinese (OC *l̥ʰoːd, *l'oːd, “to take off clothes, slip off, escape”). Alternatively, related to လျှော့ (hlyau., to reduce, loosen)? Notably, this probably isn't a causative to a base verb, as လျော (lyau:) doesn't seem to exist as its own lemma.”
