Etymology

Possibly from Sanskrit संपुट (saṃpuṭa). Compare Khmer សំបុត្រ (sɑmbot, mail, ticket). Alternative etymology sees this as a variant of བརྩམ་གྲྭ (brtsam grwa).[1]
