[edit]From Sanskrit आथर्वण (ātharvaṇa, literally “of or pertaining to the Atharvans, the authors of the Atharvaveda”). Compare Pali athabbana, āthabbana, athabbaṇa, āthabbaṇa, from which Khmer អថ័ន (ʼɑthan), អថព្ (ʼâthpô), អថ័ព្វន៍ (ʼâthâpvôn៍) were derived.
