[edit]From Pali līlā (“grace; charm; etc”), from Sanskrit लीला (līlā, “idem”); perhaps via Old Khmer līlā (“to move in a graceful or elegant manner”). Cognate with Lao ລີລາ (lī lā), Modern Khmer លីលា (liiliə).
