Usage notes

[edit]

In the traditional grammar of Telugu and other Dravidian languages, there is a contrast between "unnatural" or "corrupted" వికృతి (vikr̥ti) forms and "natural" ప్రకృతి (prakr̥ti), a term used for tatsama learned borrowings from Sanskrit. వికృతి (vikr̥ti) is mainly used for Telugu terms that are actually tadbhava loans from a Prakrit language, although some are also the result of sound changes.

Proper noun

[edit]

వికృతి (vikr̥ti)

  1. The name of a Telugu year.
