[edit]యొక్క • (yokka)
- (grammar) marker of the genitive case: of
Usage notes
[edit]- In Telugu, this is rarely used; other genitive markers are more common, with chopping off the ending of nouns or simply placing the object after the noun it belongs to being the most used and straightforward way of indicating belonging (eg. నా యొక్క గుర్రము (nā yokka gurramu, “horse of mine”) versus the more common నా గుర్రము (nā gurramu, “my horse”); comparable to using words such as "my" and "your" rather than "of mine" and "of yours").
Verb
