[edit]According to the Tamil Lexicon, a contraction of சுகமாக (cukamāka), from சுகம் (cukam, “comfort”), from Sanskrit सुख (sukha). Cognate to Kannada ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ (summane) and Malayalam ചുമ്മാ (cummā).
