[edit]Derived from Indo-Aryan, from Sanskrit सिद्धार्थ (siddhārtha, “one who has accomplished an aim or object, successful, prosperous”), from सिद्ध (siddha, “achievement”) + अर्थ (artha, “meaning, purpose”). Doublet of சித்தார்த்தன் (cittārttaṉ), borrowed directly from Sanskrit.
