  1. ligature of (ka) +‎ (ṣa), treated as a single letter. One of the consonants in the வடமொழி எழுத்துக்கள் (vaṭamoḻi eḻuttukkaḷ, “letters from the northern tongue”), used mainly in loanwords and Tamil transliterations.
    Example: மில்க்ஷேக் (milkṣēk), அக்ஷரம் (akṣaram)
