    Inherited from Prakrit *𑀕𑁄𑀝𑁆𑀝 (*gŏṭṭa) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-). Cognate to Bengali গোটা (gōṭa). Compare also Bengali -টা (-ṭa), Assamese -টো (-tü).
